I have a date with Sam Bradley!

Yes you read it right! I have a date with singer/songwriter Sam Bradley. And I don’t care who knows, I just know its be long and WAY overdue!!

Sadly my date won’t happen until May 20th! ….oh yeah I forgot to mention….it’s via itunes. Hell, I don’t care! I’m just happy its finally gonna happen…. I will finally have new Sam Bradley music!!

Sam Bradley EP Release Party! Will you be there?

Not a live show but NEW music. This will satisfy me for a little while but I will need Mr. Bradley in the US (very soon) singing his heart out while I sip on beer (I know I’m overly demanding). Lately Sam has been in touring the UK….but his fans in the US….this particular fan in Los Angeles (aka ME) miss him dearly.

The countdown has started…….10 more days…

It’s hard to believe its been 2 years since Sam released his last ep Zuni, so to say I’m anxious for new music is an understatement.

Now, I must get some beauty rest for my date with Sam!

Ta-Ta!

Its rare for a video make me bawl like a baby but Imagine Dragons has done just that. I know they’re far from Indie but I love this band….maybe….almost….well close to more than chocolate. That’s alotta love! The song Demons has been one of my favorites since it was on the Continued Silence EP.

When I was going through struggles it was the song that I connected with. The video for Demons is far better than I could have imagined and the end when we look into Dan’s ‘Demon’ moment it was him remembering a a fan by the name of Tyler Robinson. It was heartbreaking yet beautiful.

This is why Imagine Dragons is so fucking awesome! They truly and utterly love their fans! I wish more bands whether they’re starting out or as big as the Rolling Stones……don’t forget your fans!

DG42813FREEshowFlyer

Since I’m on a seriously tight budget in the coming months I will have to pass on some bands. I dont like it but rent comes first. So I’m always pleased when an artist or band puts on the a free show. Yesterday I posted about Tic Tic Boom! Now I’m estastic to see David Geftakys posted about a FREE show! I’m getting spoiled!!

I met David when I attened the Artists In Music Awards in Los Angeles this past February even though he didn’t perform that evening, I still had a chance to talk to him and was seriously impressed (plus he has the CUTEST smile!). And now I’m really excited to see him perform at Trip in Santa Monica.

Bobby Long – Wishbone

On Wednesday evening I attended the first of many listening parties for Bobby Long’s new CD Wishbone, in Hollywood.

If you’re familiar with Long’s music you will notice a slight depart from his usual bluesy-folk sound. ‘Wishbone’ has a more rock orientated sound, which allows the long time Bobby Long fan hear his growth as a musician and songwriter. And there is an edge where this CD will bring new fans.

I have to admit the song ‘To the Light’ is my absolute favorite song in the new CD – It’s a song I can see in movie trailers. The beauty of Wishbone is there are several songs that hit me like into the light. And as a wannabe writer I know this CD has inspired story line a in my head.

Wishbone will be released on 2.19.13 and suggest you buy it!

Wires In the Walls – Residency & EP Release

Last Monday, Wires In the Walls has kicked off a month long residency at the Silverlake Lounge in support of their new EP called ‘Leap, Timber, Leap’ which is available via iTunes and Bandcamp (see link below). And its an EP you should have in you music library! I’m not being bias when I say the guys from Wires are extremely talented – I’m saying it because its true.

One of the things I love about Wires In the Walls is there songwriting, something about their words just vibe with me. They always find a way to tell a story with honest worI love when a song can move me emotionally, make me think or even inspire.

WITW have always found a way move me in some way and this new EP doesn’t disappiont that feeling. With Warren Sroka emotional driven voice backed with the talents of David Irelan, Bryan King, David Sicher and bassist Denton Biety its hard turn off my ipod.

It’s okay if you missed last week’s show (2/4/13) show but if you can make time to come hear some great music!

Video: Matthew Mayfield – Better (Live @ Hotel Cafe)

Have I mentioned I simply adore Matthew Mayfield?

Last week we caught his show at Hotel Café and as usual it was amazeballs! His songs have that ability to tear into your soul when you least expect it. If you haven’t seen Matthew Mayfield then you’re seriously missing out.

Video: Matt Corby – Souls A’Fire

There is nothing like a new Matt Corby to start the day!

In this particular video…..Matt is simply mesmerizing. Souls A’Fire is already one of my favorite Matt Corby songs, whether its on electric guitar or his accoustic I’m spellbound. And with the New York skyline as his backdrop made this video one of my FAVORITE Corby videos – so far! Truly beautiful work from the Old Fulton Session team!

Enjoy!

At the moment Matt is touring the UK and I hope the U.S. will see him in the Spring. And if you miss Matt’s live shows then you’re missing out on seeing one of the best new artist to hit the music industry in a long time.

Video: Matthew Mayfield – Beautiful (Smoakstack Sessions – 2012)

Matthew Mayfield just released a video called ‘Beautiful’ and I swear my eyes became teary. As Amazing Radio’s DJ Shell Zenner would say, ‘It’s a gorgeous track’ and my god those words are so true. It’s such a souful and (lack of a better term) beautiful…..no….GORGEOUS song!

Mayfield always has the ability to sing a song as though its lovers caress. But when you least expected it he’ll sing certain words with grit and passion it’ll haunt you until your body & mind is consumed by it.

Matthew it grabbed me!
