Imagine Dragons have finally released they official video for the song ‘Radioactive’. One of my favorites off the Night Visions cd. I admit it’s a little different than what I imagined the video to be. I guess because it’s a very dark song, the video would reflect that but it’s quite the opposite.
I guess when it comes to Imagine Dragons never expect normal!
There is nothing like a new Matt Corby to start the day!
In this particular video…..Matt is simply mesmerizing. Souls A’Fire is already one of my favorite Matt Corby songs, whether its on electric guitar or his accoustic I’m spellbound. And with the New York skyline as his backdrop made this video one of my FAVORITE Corby videos – so far! Truly beautiful work from the Old Fulton Session team!
At the moment Matt is touring the UK and I hope the U.S. will see him in the Spring. And if you miss Matt’s live shows then you’re missing out on seeing one of the best new artist to hit the music industry in a long time.
Matt Corby posted a new video of ‘Brother’ and it never fails whenever I hear this song I (STILL) get chills down my back. Corby’s voice is hauntingly beautiful. I was so excited I had to share with my co-worker who was stunned into silence (hopefully I can make her a Corby fan!).

I’ve been talking with friends about #SXSW2013 and I couldn’t help but think about my favorite moments from the festival. Going to the last Imagine Dragons show at Filter was one of my favorite shows, I still get butterflies from the excitement that day.
When I saw Breton on my last night at SxSW I was completely impressed and added them to my list of artist to watch.
So this morning I had a serious urge to listen to their music again. So I hopped on YouTube this morning and that feeling happiness I had at SxSW came rushing back to me. And I’ve replayed the song ‘Interference’ from their new CD ‘Other People’s Problems’, for at least an hour and nearly snapped at anyone who interrupted my time with this song.
On a sad note, I missed them when they played LA recently…..it still hurts!
Even after seeing Marcus Foster at #SxSW I was still excited to see him play in Los Angeles. Fans eagerly awaited Marcus to take the stage and when he did the room basically erupted.
Marcus played some old songs and a few new from his ‘In This Town’ EP but part of the show was during ‘Solid Ground’ Marcus realized he was playing in the wrong key. He and keyboadrist, Jack Standen, went into a fit of giggles and Marcus could barely recover but he was able to finish the song.
And I shall return to The Hotel Cafe for night two with Marcus Foster!
I first saw Imagine Dragons when they opened for 100 Moneys (yes, the band with the twilight guy) in Las Vegas maybe 2 years ago. Since then when they’ve come to the Los Angeles area I’ve had conflicting schedules or lack of money to catch them.
After missing SEVERAL performances during the SXSW festival I was determined to catch their final show at the Filter Magazine Showcase and to say I was blown away is an understatement.
Dan mentioned that this was their 8th performance at the festival and his vocals were not at their best and instead of canceling they were going to play the best they could…..
So this is them bad?
They were beyond great!! Admittedly you could hear that Dan was tired and worn but still put on a powerful and energetic performance. They’ve grown so much as musician since I that performance a few years ago. I downloaded their new EP ‘Continued Silence’ when it was released but there is nothing like seeing them live!
I was able to take some video…..i must warn you that i was moving around because there was NO WAY I COULD STAND STILL!!D Best moment…..dring ‘It’s Time’, Dan leaned over and gave me a kiss….that’s what’s so great about SXSW its a musical love fest! Besides I have a thing for tall blondes….
Matt Corby just wrapped his only SXSW performance….Gawd it was perfection! A church setting was something i wouldn’t have thought of but really showcased his talent.
What surprised me most was how many people came out just to see Matt! Met a guy in line who found his YouTube videos a few months ago and was eager to watch him. When he left after Matt’s performance he said ‘It was life changing’….I know that feeling!
Sadly no video and I didn’t want this to be another Comic Con moment and get kicked out.
His 40 min set included fan favaorite ‘Brother’, ‘Souls AFire’ and piano version of ‘Made of Stone’.
